NWSL Teams Tier List: Every Club Ranked
Sixteen clubs, one league, and a whole lot of opinions about who actually matters right now. We looked at trophies, front office competence, fan culture, stadium atmosphere and general on-field chaos to sort every NWSL team into a tier.
This is where fan forums, podcasts and league watchers broadly land in 2024-2025, with our own take mixed in where the discourse gets heated. Think we got one wrong? That's what the comments are for. Rank it yourself and argue with us.

SS Tier: The clubs setting the standard

Kansas City Current
The purpose-built stadium on the riverfront changed the conversation about what an NWSL club could look like, and the front office has backed it up with real investment in the roster. They've been one of the league's most complete teams the last couple seasons, not just a shiny building.

Orlando Pride
Barbra Banda showed up and the Pride turned into the scariest attacking team in the league almost overnight. A Shield and championship run cemented them as the club everyone else is chasing now, and the fan base in Orlando has grown loud to match.

Gotham FC
Back-to-back title runs and a roster full of players who show up in big moments. Gotham's turnaround from laughingstock to champion is the best story arc in the league, and Ali Krieger's old locker room culture talk aged well.

How we ranked them
We weighed recent on-field success (championships, shields, playoff runs), front office stability and roster building, attendance and fan culture, and overall trajectory of the club. Expansion teams got judged on early signs and investment, not just win totals. Consensus from fan communities and league coverage drove most placements, with ties broken by our own read of the room.
