NBA Point Guards 2026 Tier List: Every Starting-Caliber PG Ranked
Point guard in 2026 is loaded, weird, and full of arguments. Some of these guys are more "point forward" or combo guard than traditional floor general, but they all run offenses, so they're all fair game.
We ranked all 30 based on what they bring right now (not career legacy, not potential five years from now), mixing team success, individual scoring and playmaking impact, and the eye test. Disagree with where we landed? That's half the fun. Argue it out and rank your own version.

FF Tier: Name recognition only at this point

How we ranked them
We weighed current two-way impact, how much the offense runs through them, shot creation for others versus just scoring, and how they hold up in winning time. Team context matters, but we tried not to punish good players stuck on bad rosters or inflate guys who just benefit from gaudy stats on broken teams. Where fan bases and media disagree (and they do, a lot, on names like Trae Young or James Harden), we picked a side and explained why.

Who is the best point guard in the NBA in 2026?
By consensus, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, with Luka Dončić, Jalen Brunson, and Cade Cunningham right there in the conversation.
Is Stephen Curry still an elite point guard?
Yes, though he's aging. His shooting gravity still makes him one of the most dangerous offensive players at the position even if he's not the league MVP threat he once was.
Where does Trae Young rank among point guards?
We put him in the B tier. His scoring and passing are elite, but defensive concerns and playoff results keep him out of the top group, a point that splits fans.
Is Ja Morant still a top point guard?
Talent-wise yes, he's a top-15 caliber player when healthy, but durability questions have kept him out of the top tiers in this ranking.
Who is the lowest-ranked point guard on this list?
Andrew Nembhard lands at the bottom. He's a legitimate NBA rotation player, just without the offensive upside of the names above him on this stacked list.
