Champions League Clubs Tier List: Every Club Ranked
Thirty-six clubs, one competition, wildly different levels of pedigree. We've taken every team currently associated with the Champions League conversation, from serial winners to clubs just happy to hear the anthem play, and sorted them into tiers based on history, current squad quality, and that hard-to-fake "big European nights" factor.
This isn't just about who's rich or who won it in the 1980s. It's about who actually shows up when it matters. Some names will sting a little if you're a fan. That's the nature of a tier list. Think we got one wrong? That's what the comments are for.

How we ranked them
We weighed European trophy history, recent Champions League form, squad depth, and the intangible "fear factor" a club brings into a draw. Legacy counts for something, nobody forgets Real Madrid's run of titles, but we also leaned hard on current form, because a famous badge with a tired squad doesn't scare anyone anymore. Where fans and critics disagree, we picked a side and explained why.

Rank these yourselfFAQ
Which club has won the most Champions League / European Cup titles?
Real Madrid, with fourteen titles, far more than any other club in the competition's history.
What club just recently won their first Champions League title?
Paris Saint-Germain won their first title in recent years after decades of heavy investment finally paying off.
Is this tier list based on all-time history or current form?
Both. We weighed historic European pedigree alongside recent form and squad quality, since a famous badge alone doesn't win matches anymore.
Why is Manchester United not ranked higher given their history?
Their trophy history is real, three European Cups, but recent Champions League campaigns have been inconsistent, which is why they sit in the B tier rather than higher.
Are smaller clubs like Bodø/Glimt or Sabah ranked unfairly low?
Not unfairly, just realistically. Reaching the competition is a genuine achievement for these clubs, but they don't yet have the squad depth or history to compete with Europe's elite.
