Spider-Man Suits Tier List: Every Costume Ranked
Spider-Man has worn more costumes than any other superhero, and honestly, that's half the fun of the character. From comics to cartoons to live-action, every version of Peter Parker (and the many people who've picked up the mantle) gets a new suit to define them.
We looked at 13 of the most talked-about suits across comics, movies and games and ranked them best to worst. This reflects what fans and critics tend to agree on across forums and reviews, with our own call where the arguments get heated. Disagree? That's part of the deal with a character who's been redesigned a thousand times. Rank them yourself and see how close you land.

SS Tier: The all-timers

Classic Red and Blue Suit
This is the suit. Everything else on this list is a remix of Steve Ditko's original web pattern, and six decades later nobody's topped it. The webbing, the color blocking, the big white eyes, it's basically a logo at this point, and that's the highest compliment a costume can get.

Miles Morales Suit
Red and black instead of red and blue, with a lot less webbing detail, and it instantly felt like its own thing instead of a copy. The Into the Spider-Verse glow-up (that chalk-outline aesthetic when he swings) sealed it as one of the best new designs Marvel has done in years.

Spider-Punk
A ripped-up jacket, safety pins, a mohawk and a guitar strapped to his back. It's the rare variant suit that tells you the character's entire personality before he says a word. Spider-Verse put him on the big screen and fans have not stopped drawing him since.
AA Tier: Excellent, no notes

Black Symbiote Suit
Sleek, all-black, no webbing lines, just a big white spider. It looks incredible right up until you remember it's an alien trying to bond with Peter's nervous system permanently, which is the whole point. Great design, great horror movie energy, slight points off because Venom (and the Raimi movie version) kind of overshadowed it.

Spider-Gwen Suit
White and pink instead of red and blue, a hoodie instead of a hood, and somehow it still reads as Spider-Man from a block away. Gwen Stacy's design did the near-impossible: made a female superhero costume that's stylish without being impractical.

Iron Spider
Tony Stark's gift to Peter is basically a suit of tech armor wearing a Spider-Man costume, extra arms and all. It's divisive among comic purists who think Peter shouldn't need Stark tech to function, but as a design it's genuinely cool and the MCU made it iconic in its own right.

Spider-Man 2099
Miguel O'Hara's blue-and-red suit with the glowing eyes and the gothic spider across the chest looks like nothing else on this list. It's moodier, sharper, more future-noir, and Across the Spider-Verse reminded everyone how good this design actually is.
BB Tier: Solid, a little flawed

Raimi Movie Suit
The suit that introduced a generation to live-action Spider-Man and it still mostly holds up, those raised web lines gave it real texture on screen. It loses a little shine now next to slicker modern suits, but Tobey Maguire swinging through Manhattan in this costume is burned into pop culture permanently.

Scarlet Spider
The sleeveless hoodie and the spider-shaped chest symbol give Ben Reilly's suit a scrappy, lower-budget charm that fans either love or find messy. It's a cult favorite rather than a mainstream hit, which is honestly fitting for a clone who never got his due.

Spider-Man Noir
Trench coat, fedora, gas mask goggles, all black and white. It's a great pulp detective reimagining that works best in its own 1930s universe, and it got a nice boost from Into the Spider-Verse, but it's more of a cool alternate-universe curiosity than a suit you'd want as the main one.
FF Tier: Should've stayed in the vault

Cosmic Spider-Man
Peter gets cosmic powers from Captain Universe and the result is a glowing white and blue suit that looks like a placeholder texture from a video game. It ditches everything that makes a Spider-Man costume recognizable, and most fans treat it as a forgettable comics detour rather than a real suit.
How we ranked them
We weighed design (does it read as Spider-Man at a glance, does it innovate), story weight (does the suit mean something to the character wearing it), and cultural footprint (how much it shows up in cosplay, merch and fan art). A suit that looks cool but has no substance behind it loses to one that's a little plainer but carries real narrative weight. Consensus from fan communities and critic reviews drove most placements, with ties broken by our own judgment.
