Drake Albums Tier List: Every Project Ranked
Drake has been dropping projects for almost two decades now, from free mixtapes that changed rap's emotional range to full-blown pop events that break streaming records. That's a lot of material to sort through, and not all of it hits the same.
This list covers everything from "So Far Gone" to the newer collab tapes and side releases like "Habibti" and "Maid of Honour". Some of these are classics people still argue about being his best. Others are ones even diehard fans skip on replay. Rank them yourself if you disagree, that's half the fun.

SS Tier: The classics everyone agrees on

Take Care
The one that still gets brought up when people argue about the best rap album of its decade, not just Drake's best. 'Marvin's Room' alone did more for drunk-text culture than anything else in music. Every mood, every sound, it all just works.

If You're Reading This It's Too Late
Dropped as a surprise with zero rollout and still ended up one of his most respected projects. Colder, meaner, way more technical on the mic than people expected from him at that point. '6 Man' and '10 Bands' still hit.

Nothing Was the Same
'Started From the Bottom' and 'Hold On, We're Going Home' on the same album tells you how wide his range was getting. Noah '40' Shebib's production here is some of the best atmospheric rap beatwork of the era. Holds up front to back.
AA Tier: Excellent, with a flaw or two

So Far Gone
The mixtape that basically invented the modern version of Drake before he'd even dropped a real album. 'Best I Ever Had' and 'Successful' still sound like the blueprint for a decade of rap-and-sing hybrids. Rough edges, but you can hear a star arriving.

Scorpion
Messy and way too long, two sides that don't always talk to each other, but when it's good it's really good. 'God's Plan' and 'In My Feelings' were inescapable, and 'Nice for What' turned a Lauryn Hill sample into a victory lap.

Thank Me Later
His proper debut still gets underrated because of what came right after it. 'Fireworks' and 'Over' set the tone, and the Lil Wayne and Kanye features show how fast he'd already climbed. A little safe in spots, but a strong start.

More Life
Called a 'playlist' instead of an album, and that framing actually explains why it works. 'Passionfruit' and 'Get It Together' let the dancehall and UK influences breathe without Drake overthinking it. Looser and more fun than Views, honestly.
BB Tier: Good, but not his best work

Views
Opened with 'Keep the Family Close' and 'Redemption' and sounded like a big artistic statement, then kind of coasted on its own size. 'Hotline Bling' and 'One Dance' carried it commercially more than the album's actual depth did. Toronto winter mood, but it drags.

Certified Lover Boy
Another oversized rollout event, another album that's half great and half filler stretched too thin. 'Way 2 Sexy' is a guilty pleasure, 'Knife Talk' with 21 Savage goes hard, but the back half loses steam fast.

Her Loss
The 21 Savage team-up has real chemistry, and tracks like 'Rich Flex' prove it. Shorter and tighter than his last few solo records, which honestly helps. Doesn't reach for anything new, but it doesn't need to.

Dark Lane Demo Tapes
A scattershot drop of loosies and leaks that somehow produced 'Chicago Freestyle' and 'Toosie Slide'. Feels more like a victory lap between albums than a real statement. Fans who like Drake's loose, off-the-cuff side rate this higher than critics do.

What a Time to Be Alive
The Future collab tape that's less about songwriting and more about vibe and swagger. 'Jumpman' is the one everybody remembers, the rest blurs together a bit. Fun in the moment, not something people revisit album to album.
CC Tier: Flawed or forgettable

Honestly, Nevermind
The house and dance pivot split fans right down the middle, and we're siding with the skeptics here. 'Falling Back' has its fans, but a lot of the tracklist feels like an experiment that didn't fully land outside the clubs.

For All the Dogs
Long, uneven, and full of the kind of petty bar-trading that feels more exhausting than entertaining at this stage. A few tracks click, but it struggles to justify its own runtime. Feels like a victim of expectations set way higher by his earlier work.

Iceman
A smaller, lower-stakes release that didn't generate much lasting conversation one way or the other. Fine for background listening, forgettable next to his bigger statements.

Care Package
A compilation of loosies rather than a real album, which makes it hard to rank next to his proper projects. Nice to have 'Draft Day' and 'Sooner Than Later' collected in one place, but it's a scrapbook, not a destination.
DD Tier: For completionists only

Some Sexy Songs 4 U
The PartyNextDoor collaboration leans heavily on mood over songwriting, and the hooks rarely stick the way his best work does. Feels more like a vibe exercise than something with real staying power.

Habibti
One of the smaller, late-era drops that came and went without making much of a dent. Doesn't bring anything that his bigger albums haven't already done better.
FF Tier: Even fans skip this one

Maid of Honour
Even generous Drake fans struggle to make a case for this one. It lands as a minor footnote rather than anything close to essential, and most casual listeners have probably never heard it.
How we ranked them
We pulled together what fans argue about on forums and what critics wrote at the time of release, then weighed replay value, cultural impact, and how well each project actually holds up years later. Big singles matter, but we cared more about whether the whole thing works front to back. Where the fanbase is genuinely split, like on the dance pivot of "Honestly, Nevermind" or the bloat of "Certified Lover Boy", we picked a side and explained why.

Rank these yourselfFAQ
What is Drake's best album according to most fans and critics?
"Take Care" is the one most consistently named his best, with "Nothing Was the Same" and "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" close behind.
Is Views overrated?
A lot of fans think so. It sold huge and produced massive singles like "One Dance", but the album itself is widely seen as bloated compared to his stronger work.
What's the difference between Care Package and a normal Drake album?
"Care Package" is a compilation of previously released loose tracks and B-sides, not a cohesive studio album, which is why it ranks differently from his main projects.
Is So Far Gone a mixtape or an album?
It was released as a free mixtape in 2009, but it's often discussed alongside his studio albums because of how influential it was.
Why did Honestly, Nevermind split opinion?
It moved Drake into house and dance music territory instead of his usual rap and R&B sound, which some fans loved as a bold pivot and others felt didn't suit him.
